Extension of OGML

When an option to extend a mineral lease is exercised, is a Lessee required to file a Memorandum of Extension of OGML in the conveyance records of the parish or is this filing strictly voluntary?  Thanks.

Depends on the language in the lease.  There is no state mandated requirement.
