Corpus Christi Going Green With Compressed Natural Gas

CORPUS CHRISTI - ( Kiii News) - Top utility officials in Corpus Christi say the city is going green by using more and more compressed natural gas to operate city vehicles, and now that's also true with the postal service in the city.

Today at the Portairs Station Post Office, the City's postmaster general touted a recent partnership with the city gas department that's resulted in many postal service vehicles using compressed natural gas, or CNG, and it is an abundant fuel. They say there's more natural gas in the U.S. than there is oil in Saudi Arabia.

In researching the decades-old Tuscaloosa Trend and the immense wealth it has generated for many, I find it deeply troubling that this resource-rich formation runs directly beneath one of the poorest communities in North Baton Rouge—near Southern University, Louisiana—yet neither the university ( that I am aware of)  nor local residents appear to have received any compensation for the minerals extracted from their land.
