Anyone seen the performance of Susan Boyle--Britain's Got Talent? It's on YouTube. I have seen Les Miserables several times & I have never heard the song I Had a Dream sung any better.

She did say that she had voice lessons every week for several years. I think she said she started having the lessons in her thirties.

It was a major victory for the underdog!

I found the occasional shots of the audience very telling...for an unknown 47 year old pudgy "frump" to move an audience that may have been age 25 on average to a standing ovation speaks volumes!

Not only can she sing, but she has a nice touch of showmanship.

In researching the decades-old Tuscaloosa Trend and the immense wealth it has generated for many, I find it deeply troubling that this resource-rich formation runs directly beneath one of the poorest communities in North Baton Rouge—near Southern University, Louisiana—yet neither the university ( that I am aware of)  nor local residents appear to have received any compensation for the minerals extracted from their land.
