I've owned minerals in LA and TX since 2008. I've been in the ad business for more than 30 years, working mostly as a graphic designer and ad copywriter.

That said, I created the attached meme that reflects (also vents) my frustrations with operators intentionally keeping me in the dark—a recurring theme on GHS as we all know.

Hope you like it.

LOL!  Thanks, Jimmy.  Humorous but also unfortunately accurate.  Once a mineral owner signs a lease and becomes a lessor they are largely ignored.  Common courtesy in the majority of cases is a nonstarter.  After being ignored over a serious issue, the only course for the mineral owner is an attorney and potentially litigation.  The legal response of the industry is deny, delay, deny, delay and try to wait out the mineral owner.  It is largely a successful strategy and therefore is used continually across the entire industry.  The O&G industry is the most litigious industry around.  When they aren't in litigation with mineral owners, they are suing each other.

Thanks for the reply and the sad yet enlightening info. Comstock is the best at responding to emails. Initially. But, by and large, when I ask a follow up question that indicates I might have done some homework, the reply is usually "I've referred this to so and so department, please allow 60 days..."

You're welcome, thanks for posting.  60 days is not customer service.  It is a corporate put off.  More deny and delay.

Agree!
