Oh GOSH!! Gosh Darn, I hope you are correct in that things are improving; however, this is holiday time so can we really estimate or scrutinize in this time frame? Your positive attitude did sound so fine!!!! It seems to be certain that many are "making the big bucks" selling books. More and more politicians are coming on the market including the LA. Gov. and TX Gov.
I wonder if one or both will become a candidate for president . Another problem can be all of the people moving here for jobs, the economy which is better than most (they say) and they can move here with many needs which can be a problem for the social services, traffic. city, state, county services, education, medical, and maybe criminal justice systems. Of course, they can bring many skills, assets, etc. This energy business is, and always has been, "Wait and see--take is as it comes". Mailbox money can be disappointing, but we have to remember something is better than nothing and to give thanks for what we have and we shall get more. We need to know that we cannot enjoy it when it is up as we have to pay all of the taxes and not overestimate what we can do, and we should always set realistic goals. LOL
So, if I am in 161030, Bossier Parish and lease expires July 2011, is there any way to tell if we will be drilled? There is a large pad on 161019 and was thinking that this might be ours but still no activity yet.
smith, you have too much remaining term to make that determination. Other factors would be productivity of completed wells in your vicinity and what operators hold leases in your section other than your lessee. The pad in Section 19 is a sign of prior plans to develop. Those plans may still be in place.
Thank you
Smith, Petrohawk has permitted a Haynesville Shale well for your section with a surface location in the southwest corner of Section 19.
