It looks as though everything associated with "Haynesville" is booming as the Haynesville High Golden Tornado won the Louisiana State 1A Football Championship by a score of 19-12.

Carthage beat La Grange to advance to the State Title game on the Texas`side of the play. Congrats to all of you!
Great to see Haynesville win championship. When did they become Hurricanes? I remember them as "Golden Tornado". I went to many of their games in late 40's and 50's. Some great teams back then. I graduated from Shongaloo High School in '52. We didn't have enough boys for a football team, if you can believe that!! Always remember Haynesville-Homer games on Thanksgiving day.

Too bad about no Haynesville Shale production in Haynesville field. Probably never will be!! But the H'ville Sand and many other formations are productive there for about last 100 years! I like those others just fine.

I was wondering that too, I graduated in 74, and it was the Golden Tornado. Winning the state championship is great!

Tuscaloosa Trend Sits On Top Of Poorest Neighbourhood For Decades - Yet No Royalties Ever Paid To The Community -- Why??

In researching the decades-old Tuscaloosa Trend and the immense wealth it has generated for many, I find it deeply troubling that this resource-rich formation runs directly beneath one of the poorest communities in North Baton Rouge—near Southern University, Louisiana—yet neither the university ( that I am aware of)  nor local residents appear to have received any compensation for the minerals extracted from their land.
