Infrastructure Developments Attends Alternative Fuels Proposal Conference in Virginia

SALT LAKE CITY, Aug 22, 2011 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Infrastructure Developments Corp. /quotes/zigman/601100 IDVC -13.67% announced today that it has attended a State of Virginia Pre-Proposal Conference outlining a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the Commonwealth Alternative Fuel Vehicles Implementation Plan. The RFP was issued in response to an Executive Order by Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell to develop and implement a plan to convert state-owned vehicles to alternative fuels, including compressed natural gas (CNG).

"The pre-proposal conference was extremely important for Infrastructure as we move forward with our CNG business development," stated CEO Thomas R. Morgan. "We will be participating in the entire proposal process and will be submitting recommendations and proposals as part of a consortium of conversion and refueling equipment companies, as well as natural gas providers. Virginia intends to review recommendations, develop a detailed plan of action, and then award contracts based on the most viable and economical proposals."

Virginia has requested that private companies submit proposals to convert state-owned vehicles to alternative fuels and develop plans for the refueling of these vehicles on a statewide basis. To this end, Infrastructure representatives held discussions at the conference with Virginia energy officials and CNG industry leaders, as well as federal/state advocates and coordinators of alternative fuels conversion and usage.

While the proposal process is wide-ranging in its initial form, Infrastructure will also be working with Clean Cities Coalition of Virginia to identify specific areas and communities that already have plans for CNG conversion and fueling stations. Infrastructure will then develop build-operate-transfer (BOT) business models for these targeted communities.

The Clean Cities program is sponsored by the Department of Energy in accordance with the Energy Policy Act of 1992. The program was chartered to help ensure national energy security by reducing dependence on imported petroleum products by promoting alternative fuel use in the transportation sector.
