Is the HA Shale now the largest American NatGas reserve??????

Marcellus Shale Estimated Reserves

 

MA reserves estimated at 84 trillion cubic feet as opposed to original 410tcf.

 

Might this now make the HA the largest natgas reserve in the country????????

From the last USGS assessment, the 84 tcf is an increase. Do you know the source of the 410 tcf estimate?

Parkdota, the values being quoted are for resource size rather than reserves.  The ultimate resource size of the shale gas plays is highly speculative at this time and varies based on the evaluation methodology. 
And the "highly speculative" nature of the ultimate resource size has led to SEC inquiries . . .

the USGS is rarely correct.  But they try real hard.
