Only if people whip him into shape. He has spent the last 8 years chasing investigations and certianly not searching for solutions. I think he is a disaster and it's a shame Dingell wasn't voted in.

His voting record indicates he will be "pro" natural gas. While there has been little legislation regarding NG, he voted to extend tax credits for renewable fuels, and increase tax for oil companies. He also rejected the proposal for offshore drilling for oil, indicating he may be "anti" oil. These lead me to believe he will be good for NG, and good for N.Louisiana/E.Texas.

NG is pretty "green"

Depends on your point of view. NG is more green than oil or coal. But...It is a fossil fuel that when burned produces greenhouse gasses.

Solar is pretty green,

Just to power the US at current levels, we would have to cover 10% of the earth with solar panels. That dosen't even cover electricity as a transportation fuel. You wanna see a mass leasing rush, that would be it.

I didn't say it was the answer. I said it was green.

Personally I like coal and oil. Gas is good too.

Baron, Nothing personal aimed at you in my post and as far as I can tell nothing that stated you "said" anything in particular. My point was just that it is so far off and failrly far fetched. As for alternative fuels, they are better for the environment but are really just a supplement to fossil fuels. We have to use what we have the best way that we can. I think oil works great until it is 100 dollars per barrel and then domestic gas seems like the next cost effective step.

I agree that cng is probally the next best fuel.

However, we can not continue to just build more cars and roads. We need more forms of mass transit.

Waxman will be bad for natural gas and bad for N. Louisiana/E. Texas.

From Bloomberg "Waxman also is a foe of 'hydraulic fracturing' a decades-old drilling technique that environmentalists complain threatens the safety of drinking water. Waxman last year held a hearing on the practice, which is regulated by states, and called for tougher oversight."

It will be hard to complete many Haynesville Shale wells if you don't frac them.
