We own a vacuum truck, just wondering if y'all think things will pick up. Or should we bail out? We have cheap rates, just not much work (it seems like). We have worked in Texas but not too much here. What do you think?

Are you in the book? Chemical plants are always in need of vacuum trucks to pick up spills or clean out vessels. I worked as an Emergency Responder at a plant and we used vacuum trucks in lots of our operations besides spills. You need to make sure that the persons who will be on site have a business card and a number that they can reach you 24/7. When something is on the ground they usually need you asap and if you are dependable as far as a quick response at 3:30am.

The only down side I can see is having only one truck. If the spill or job is pretty big then you may not be able to keep up with their time constraints. Most companies who do clean out/ups have more than one trucks...
What book?...... my husband is the driver, so he always is handing out business cards. He is on call 24-7! The only problem with having more trucks are the drivers. LOL. We used to own 6 and it was such a head ache! So now we have one and a very reliable driver.
I meant phone book sorry. i do understand having more than one truck. because of the regularity of the work. Like you say if you can't pay someone to stand by you could be caught short.

I was not trying to tell you how to do it just what we looked for when we needed a truck. sorry...
