I have not seen a permit yet, but I know they are forming units in this area.

Thanks Baron - What do you mean by forming a unit? Also, isn't a permit issued before any kind of dirt work is done?

They are forming conservation units. Any landowner in the unit will share in the production of each unit well based on acreage owned.

Sometimes locations are built before the permit is even applied for, sometimes it takes LOC time to approve permits, depends on how backloged they are. The permit may have been applied for, but sent back for more info, missing info, etc...

I am not familiar with CHK operations enough to know if the do the work themselves, but somtimes the crews to build locations are hard to come by, you build it when you can. You don't want to have a rig with no where to go. Also, the soil cement used on locations needs time ti setup.

personally, i'm excited to see some drilling in this area. It will be interesting to see what the HA will do in this area.

Baron - I heard something today about a superpad off Kingston road. Is this practice common and are there any others like this one in the ark-la tex? I heard Nabors was drilling 12 holes there.

i have never seen a super pad. I have seen photos and reports of them in other plays. CHK has used them before,( i know in the barnett).

The most wells I have heard drilled from one superpad was 6 from one pad, and not at the same time but over a period of time. CHK has put photos of these on its website.

To answer your question, in LA it is not a common practice. It was started in areas where drillsites where at a premium (urban areas). There are cost benefits, lower location building costs, not as many access roads, only one water well instead of many, easier pipeline conections, etc.....

We will probally see more superpads. I am waiting to see if a well will be drillled in section x, to produce from a lateral in section y.

And of course the real question.

If a well is driled in section x, with a lateral into section y, only perferations are well withen section y, all production is from section y....

...is prescription interupted in section x???
