This is a great map. 2 new wells permitted by Samson in Bracky Branch for Breedlove in section 36 and 25
Does a unit have to be created for a section before a well is granted a permit? (Live in T16R15S13 Metcalf Field)
Ann, a well permit can be granted before the unit is created. Most operators will want the unit in place before production starts.
There will soon be wells in every section surrounding us. That may not be uncommon. This may be a stupid question, but could they drill these wells horizonally into our section?
Ann, there is no such thing as a stupid question. Only mineral owners becoming better informed.

Any well drilled and completed in your section would have to be permitted by the state. Wells can be completed in only one unit (section). You would receive your share of production (or royalty) from any well completed in your section even if the surface location is in an adjacent section.

To date there have been three Haynesville Shale wells drilled in your area.

Chesapeake, Dixie Farm 11 #H1 Well, Serial #239703, S11-T16N-R15W
Chesapeake, Chiggero et al 14 #H1 Well, Serial #236110, S14-T16N-R15W
Chesapeake, JPIL Beaird 22 #H1 Well, Serial #238491, S22-T16N-R15W
This is a great map but I wish it identified the section number. Does anyone know if there is a more detailed version of this map with the corresponding section numbers? Thanks
Ann, use the following interactive map and just turn on the various layers such Township, Section, Wells, Units, etc

I'm having trouble pulling up this link, getting an error message. Has anyone successfully accessed this?
No from clicking on link in GHS. But copy and paste the link in your browser and it works OK.
Thanks.
