Mud logs
I'm trying to learn how to read mudlogs. I've found some mudlogs from wells close to some property I own and I'm trying to learn what to make of them. It's pretty obvious what a formation is when there is only shale, sand, or lime listed but how interpret sand with shale, shale with lime, lime with shale, shale with sand streaks?
Also I've been looking for mud logs on SONRIS but I can only find them on well dated before 1960. Is there another place to find mud logs?
How does the Haynesville shale show up on a mudlog? Is it listed as only shale, black shale, shale with sand streaks etc. ? I read a bit on the Barnett shale and found that it was listed as a shale with lime on the mud logs. Thanks ahead of time for any help.

I would appreciate it. The old mud logs I've looked only mention organic content at the target formation. Is that routine? Thanks Jay.
