From a member,

"I have learned a lot from your site...Especially the more I know, the more I don't know...
I hope on this National Day of Prayer, Everyone on your site, and elsewhere could make a prayer to God and our Savior that all effort will be made for all Oil and Gas Companies and all...to not harm anyone or anything for their own profit...and... a prayer for all the guys and maybe gulls that may work at these dangerous jobs."
Thank you Keith for sharing those comments. Also, for the work you have done on this site to help so many people. I truly believe that the Haynesville Shale is a blessing granted from the hand of God. Why here? Why us? We did nothing to deserve this treasure created beneath us. Thank God for all His blessings and may He have mercy on this country.
thank you all for your replies
Although this is a prayer OF a Catholic saint, I believe it is generic enough that sect should not matter. Oh, and of course Keith you have added to our blessings here by empowering us with a wide variety of information related to the HS and I am most grateful.

Prayer OF St. Francis of Assisi

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace;
where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon:
where there is doubt, faith ;
where there is despair, hope
where there is darkness, light
where there is sadness, joy
O divine Master,
grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
to be understood, as to understand;
to be loved, as to love;
for it is in giving that we receive,
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are born to Eternal Life.
Amen.

PS - I was tempted to post the French version. lol 80)
OMG,
I am Baptist,.but was drawn to this prayer after a close neighbor passed away and left me a blessed St. Francis statue...she was a Nun and I now have her blessed St. Francis in my garden. I would love to now the French version.

I truly believe God gave us our great and noble country and most of us are old enough to know the true cost of freedom, something many today take for granted. Whether or not we pass a stronger or weaker nation to future generations is entirely up to us.

I also believe God gave us everything we need, including natural resources, to sustain ourselves and whether or not we're good stewards of our blessings remains to be seen. The world seems more fragile than ever to me right now but while I'm somewhat discouraged, but I remain hopeful. I really don't think any possession ever seems more valuable than when it is threatened.

You are right on Rosebud. God blessed this land and we must acknowledge that!
I won't even get political. May God bless everybody, and their families.
I want to share something that happened recently that hit me like a ton of bricks - I found where a neighbor had thrown an American flag in the trash. They rolled the flag around the flagpole and stuck the whole thing in a garbage can in front of their house for the city sanitation department to pick up.

I have never in my life witnessed anything anymore unsettling. I don't know how long the flag had been in the garbage can but it was wet and muddy. I was walking my dog, I was half a block from my house, but I took the flag home. I don't know if we're supposed to launder a flag or not but I did, then I pressed it and hung it at my front door where it has been all week.

I don't know if anyone else would have been that upset but it took me quite awhile to calm down, it's hard to believe anyone would have that little respect for the American flag.
Rosebud,
That is such a sweet story. God Bless America!!!
I know I am late in participation in the National Day of Prayer, however I am so happy to find others who like myself find peace in Our Lord. God Bless and thank you.

We ARE blessed. I am so happy to find others that have the same mind set and know to send our thanks to Our Lord; without Him we would not be here nor would we have such a wonderful opportunity to be stewards of the land.
