You can use the GIS viewer to see some companies that are actively operating in sabine county. Chesapeake shows three leases this year. I don't know where moses hill is located but you can look up the leases on GIS to see how close they are located.
H1, the leases you are referring to on GIS are state leases. The state holds a monthly auction of minerals for lease owned by public entities such as municipalities, school districts, levee boards, parish governments and, of course, state owned minerals. Interested companies can nominate state tracts to the auction schedule and governmental entities can include their minerals whenever they may choose to do so. The auction is held on the tenth of each month excepting weekends. The bids, including bonus bids, are public record and may be viewed on SONRIS. There is much of value to be gathered from the auctions and it is a good source of reliable facts amidst the sea of rumors that revolve around the Play.

On the SONRIS Lite Main Page, Click on "Lease Sale and Tract History" in the far right column under "Minerals". Leave the "Tract Number" box blank. Click "Submit Query" and review the tracts for location by parish and s-t-r. The bonus per acre is listed along with the royalty fraction.
I did not realize you could get that info from SONRIS about TEXAS leases. I thought it was only LA.
There have been some companies leasing in Sabine County this year. I just singled out Chesapeake.
You caught me, H1. I thought Sabine Parish was the subject of the thread. My apology, I didn't look closely enough. I think you will find the members in the E. TX. county groups to ne quite knowledgeable. And suspect that you will get a good list of companies leasing in that portion of the Play if you post your thread in one or more of those groups.
looks like you got caught on the wrong side of the stateline fault Skip..
Hey, I resemble that remark, Baron. LOL! It's not the first time. I was going on about Marion County, TX. the other day and one of my GHS friends said, "Psst, Skip, their posting about the town of Marion in AR." As Les B. does, I'd like to quote Gilda Radner/Emily Lattella, "nevermind!"
Rats. I thought maybe there was more information to be found somewhere else than GIS and was just assuming SONRIS was la only.
