New Permian Gas lines may miss out on LNG opportunity, Haynesville could be top supplier

New Permian Basin natural gas pipelines set to enter service in the next two years are not optimally positioned to meet liquefied natural gas demand in Southeast Texas and Southwest Louisiana, FactSet energy analyst Connor McLean warned at the GPA Midstream Convention. He suggested that the Haynesville Shale could emerge as the top supplier for South Louisiana's growing LNG market, with an expected demand increase of 10 Bcf/d through 2030, though the region's long-term production viability depends on better returns for producers.
