LOGANSPORT, La. — The Canadian energy delivery company Enbridge is proposing another major pipeline to move natural gas from the Haynesville Shale and from the producing East Texas region.

The company planned open houses Tuesday in Logansport and Wednesday in Natchitoches to provide information about the proposed 340-mile interstate pipeline.

Preliminary plans call for it run from the Enbridge Carthage Hub in Panola Country, Texas, through DeSoto and Natchitoches parishes, and connect with Southern Natural Gas Pipeline in Washington Parish. Details are not final, and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission must review the project.

It's among a number of major pipeline projects announced since the Haynesville Shale got busy in the spring of 2008.

Does this look like a map for this project?

Sesport, that is the project.
AP is really late on their story since this pipeline project was proposed about six months ago. This project does not yet have a FERC filing as there has not been sufficient shipper commitments to launch.
Economic impact???? They announced they expected to file with FERC by the end of 3Q '09. I suppose this will keep production suppressed, although there's plenty in storage that still needs consuming.

Here's a link to an explanation of the process.

And a flow chart detailing the process.

'Open houses' set on pipeline project
Town Talk staff • January 20, 2010

Another major pipeline to move natural gas from the Haynesville Shale and the producing East Texas region is being proposed by Canada-based energy delivery company Enbridge.

"Open houses" are set for Natchitoches and Alexandria about the proposal.
The open house in Natchitoches is set for 5 to 7:30 p.m. today at the Louisiana School for Math, Science and the Arts on the NSU campus.
The open house in Alexandria will be from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Menard High School, 4603 Coliseum Blvd.
Can anyone tell us the location of meeting that will be held in Logansport? We have been notified by Enbridge that our property is in the path of their pipeline. I hope that the open house was not yesterday.
Linda, the Logansport meeting was yesterday. The Natchitoches meeting is tonight and the Alexandria meeting is Thursday. Details above. If you can't make it, go to Enbrige's website and find contact info for the LaCrosse pipeline.
Thank you Skip! My husband is in Grand Cane and I left a message for him about the meeting in Natchitoches. We do not have internet at our place up there.
Did anyone receive an invitation to attend this meeting from Enbridge? The project manager just called and told us that the company should have sent out notices. We are affected by this pipeline. He told me that there will be government meeting as well but he does not have a date. Thanks!!!:)
