Breaking News. Natural Gas Intelligence just published some good. News -->
The US Energy Information Administration (EIA) on Thursday reported a 28 Bcf net withdrawal of natural gas from storage during the week ended July 24, a decisively bullish surprise versus consensus estimates that caused a modest price reaction.
Yes, indeed.
Such a complex equation, Skip.
Note: The hot weather still seems to be in the driver's seat (needless to say) . . . even with the hard-to-understand LNG issues due to the Iranian war (who knows what's gonna happen with that dustup) . . . and with the brouhaha over NG fueling the data centers.
Hey, I made an "A" in calculus as a freshman at LSU . . . but I don't have a clue where this complex equation is headed. There are so many variables. Lots of variables to be calculated in this mess.
Thank you again for all that you do, Skip. Your honesty and helpful attitude has meant a lot to my family. Much appreciated.
You're welcome, Jesse. July has been a strange month. It should be a withdrawal month but it has had significant injection volumes. The jury is out on future nat gas prices. There is certainly more demand on the way but there is also significant supply increases in our future. Which one will prevail is an open question. Expands recent acquisition of Twin Eagles works into the equation. EXE had 4 bcf of Gulf Coast storage before the acquisition. Twin Eagles has 49 bcf of storage capacity and 1300 customers many electric utilities. Storage can provide extra supply in times of need or be used to store gas when prices are low. The increasing interest in nat gas storage will be a significant factor going into 2027.
