Anthont, there are no producing wells in that section.  There are a few in the general vicinity but they are poor producers and not economic at current prices. Use this link, put your township and range in the appropriate boxes, leave the section box blank.  This way you can see the historic wells in Section 10 and those around it.

Great! Thank you. Also, in another section with previous production, sent correspondence to join in a perceived class action lawsuit to recoup royalties payments that may have been manipulated by the operator. There is no out ou pocket cost and they were successful suing Petrohawk. Is there any unforeseen risk in doing so?

You're welcome.  I think you are referring to a mass tort action as LA courts do not certify class actions regarding recovering of royalty.  It's hard to access risk without specifics but the usual outcome when successful is attorneys realize consider compensation and plaintiffs get a check for $50.  Generally speaking of course.  ;-)

That's exactly what I was thinking. You pay for their accommodation to enrich their pockets and they tell you to keep the change.

I have tons of the crap. Maps, logs, etc. Local libraries and O&G partners say that they don't want it, that they don't need it, so I am mulching it, slowly.

I am not a geologist but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.  I suggest a complete description of State & county/Parish would be prudent in getting a response.

Thank you for emphasizing that major descrepancy. The state is Louisiana and the parish is Desoto.

Anthont,

If you are interested in Haynesville wells, I can help you a little.  Because I have an interest in that area, I have already compiled some data.  The best Haynesville wells in your area have produced about 5 Bcfe to date.  These wells drain the following sections:  22-11-11, 27-11-11,

The wells immediately next to your section, which include sections 3, 4, 9, 13, and 14, have not been barn burners.  It looks like they might ultimately produce 4 Bcfe.  This area does not provide the large EURs that come further north.  But I know of no reason to assume you will do any better or worse than the nearby sections.

Having said all of this:  I AM NOT A GEOLOGIST OR PETROLEUM ENGINEER.  I only know how to look up numbers on sonris.

You might hope that with the improvements in drilling/fracking that have occurred over time, any newly drilled wells might be somewhat better.  Most of the wells I listed were drilled around 2010 - 11.  Experience and technology have allowed things to improve somewhat since then.

Although it is reasonable to expect improved production from newer well designs, when I see interest this far south I tend to think it is related to the Bossier Shale.  Comstock is commencing a Bossier drilling program on their south DeSoto acreage.

I've previously contacted several companies doing business in that area and unfortunately have yet to receive any real interest. My position has been to review available geological data to see if it supports a favorable interest currently, or in the near future. The Dolite Hills mining company has agreed to allow drilling since the area was not used for mining.

Anthont, the only lands that may be drilled within the Dollet Hills mine boundary are those that have been mined and reclaimed.  Those are very limited and specific areas designated by the mining company.
