If not for Indigo's CV liquids play, there would soon be little to follow in the way of drilling in  Caddo and  DeSoto.  The only rigs currently operating in Caddo other than Indigo's are drilling alternate HA wells, Petrohawk - 2 and QEP - 1.  In DeSoto, 1 CHK unit well and 6 EXCO alternate unit wells.

I would hazard the guess that both CHK and BHP have other plays to which they can send contracted rigs.  EXCO And QEP may be a different story.  Jay, is it possible that the latter companies would have to pay the day rates on their contracted rigs whether drilling or stacked?  Do drilling contracts generally have buy out provisions?

THey are drilling for accounting purposes, it's all about what's on the books.

JAY-- there are some contagio in future prices. I saw about $3.40 out to June 2013 in paper.-- How far out in future can you hedge futures and what highest prices for longest contracts at present time?

Jay-- I found answer on CME HH future on to Dec 2020--- last trade $5.05 ( 7  1/2 years) but operator could not store it that long to deliver so don't know how that would help them today.
