Petrohawk Submits Alternate Well Applications

Petrohawk has submitted applications to drill alternate wells in eight Haynesville Units in Red River Parish.  Although these are not drilling permits they are an indication Petrohawk is planning to begin multi-well development drilling in some areas of the Haynesville Shale.

 

Also note that Petrohawk plans to develop several of these units with 7 wells per section rather than 8.

Does anyone have word on 24 and 24 11n-12w. Desoto parsih, and what will these alt wells provide to the current production of the main well.

Mike, the alternate wells should have little or no impact on the production of the existing wells in each unit.

Mike, no apologies necessary.  Horizontal Haynesville Shale wells only drain ~ 80 to 100 acres of the 640 acre unit (section).  So additional wells are required to fully produce the available gas reserves in a section.  Any additional well in a unit beyond the original is considered to be an alternate well by the State.

thanks for the new knowledge Mr. Les B well i'll be keeping my eye out for these type of wells in my units...peace
