Howdy. Our well just started producing. (At least, that's what SONRIS says.) Does anyone have any idea how long (average?) it takes to start seeing royalty checks? We have not been sent Division Orders yet. Any help? Thanks in advance!

Frank,

The earliest you can expect to see a royalty check is two months after the first production month. If your operator sends out division orders, then it will be several month down the road. Most likely 4 to 6 months after first production month.

From what I hear, it depends on your operator. Our CHK well started production in Feb and we hope to have our Division Orders in a few weeks, with the first check around the first of Sept.

I understand some others are a little faster.

Up to a year in Texas and up to 6-7 months in Louisiana is my experience.
