My family was again negotiating with Petro Hawk on our farm in south Webster parrish. This is the third time around for this wonderful process. Friday, April 1, we recieved a certified letter saying that Petro Hawk was resending all offers and ceasing all leasing activities. Of course there wasn't any explanation as to why. And our Bradley/Broussard land man is not answering his phone. I assumed this was another broad area, irresponsible decision by the Petro Hawk management, but since the new's wires and this site have no comments on this, I am know thinking that is was just us that got left at the alter again. Any one else out there aware to this recent pull out on further leasing.

Walter,
Why do you bad mouth Petro Hawk when the negotiations did not produce a result you were happy with. It is business plain and simple. I leased to PetroHawk and found that they the landman / Acadian Land were very helpful and we negotiated for several months. Bottom line in these companies are not in the same position they were last year and the old leasing prices will be on hold for a while. If you have land in the shale, hang on it will come back. It is easy to figure out why they are on hold. Check the NG price today compared with last year. As to the land man not answering the phone, can you imagine all of the calls they get. If you are not on the list for leased land, you will probably not get a call. Good luck and hang on, it will come back, just dont know when.

Petrohawk has all the brokers on tight leashes and I don't think there are too many kids in the field anymore.
Walter, Walter, Walter,
I am all about everyone getting a good lease, but no one owes you one. If you don't like it, don't take it.
Hold out. And don't bitch.
Put your big boy britches on.
