Is anyone out there recieving royalty payments yet? I was just wondering what payments would be per acre on an average well in haynesville shale, with what gas prices are right now? There are several calculators on the web but they all seem to give u a different answer. Just wanted to talk to someone who may be recieving payments or to one of the oil and gas pros out there. THANKS FOR ANY INFO!!!

Our first royalty check was for $3.04 per unit for the month of July 2009. The next check we got was for $1.90 per unit. We've only received the two checks. I'm glad no one around here has quit their job looking forward to the big royalty checks. Our part of the farm is around 65 acres. I know a check is a check but we sure were hoping it would be better than this.

We know how the person feels about the $150 per acre in 2006. We got paid $100 per acre. The only difference between then and the time other people around us in 2008 were getting $16,000 to $22,000 per acre is that we now know what they knew in '06. Also, we (as a family) have around 400 acres. They got as many of the big land owners as they could in '06 because $100 an acre was BIG BUCKS for mineral leases. We have leased in the past for the amazing sum of $50 to $75 per acre.
skipcrawford,
Do you mind telling us what area was receiving $16,000 to $22,000 per acre??
I can say it's in DeSoto Parish and not recently. Over a year ago.
Also in South Caddo Parish back in 2008.
and in south bossier, longwood, greenwood........ but not anymore, the land rush is over.
we got 22,500 / acre in bienville (bistineau field) parish, last sept 08, some friends just got 6000 acre in zwolle / toledo bend last week.

I have heard that Petrohawk and Chasapeake in bidding war on acreage again in La. with offers and counter offers going up to $10,000/acrea again
Do you know this, or have you just heard rumours?
Heard it from an attorney working with several clients now with the competing offers
RBH,

What part of the play?
parker, I would suggest the correct question would be "what parts of the play". I have no reports of Petrohawk making $10,000/acre offers and I have seen them cease to make offers when competitors reached the $10,000/acre price. That doesn't mean that it's not happening and though I haven't seen them at $10,000, I have seen them darn close. And I have seen some of their competitors above the $10,000 mark on properties that are in the 25 to 50 acre range. Quite surprising at the current nat gas prices but most welcome. At this point a disclaimer is in order: The offers I refer to are quite location and detail specific, they are not blanket offers for a wide area. Those days are gone IMO. What remains is a gradually improving lease offer environment over all and location specific offers that under the right circumstances are reminiscent of the early days of the Play when competition for leasehold was wide spread.
6,000 sounds like the going price now in the core areas. Sounds like you signed just before the crash, congratulations.
