Sabine County, Texas

Anybody have any incite on the leasing that has been/ is being done in Sabine Co., TX.?  Does it look like they are going to do any drilling?  Silver Hill Energy Partners seems to be the big player.  Looks like they spent a lot of money leasing but not seeing much activity kicking off.

Have you seen a lease?  The usual lease term is three years with an option for a two year extension but it could be longer.  Silver Hill is not a "big" player but they are an experienced Haynesville Shale driller.  With natural gas prices low and expected to stay that way, Silver Hill may not be in a rush to drill.  At some point in their lease terms they will have to make a decision to drill or exercise their option to extend the lease term.  My rig report shows no rigs drilling in Sabine County at this time.

Yes sir, in fact they leased my families interest.  We have a 3 year lease but no option.  I seen only one permit on RRC lately but just seeing if anyone maybe had more information.  We were shocked 3 years ago when  Continental resources contacted us to lease, then were very shocked when Silver Hill contacted us to extend the end of last year.  We did not just extend we negotiated a whole new lease.

Silver Hill has new well permits in Sabine.  Don’t be asleep on the activity.  Here is one permit.  There are others.

The permits come from a subscription service so I can not post links.  But they are all in the far north portion of Sabine County.  I am sure someone who can navigate the RRC website could find them.
