How many wells are in this section?
And if there are several wells in section 12, will everyone get paid off all of the wells in section 12?
I understand that a unit is 640 acres which equals a section, right?? So if I have land in that section (section 12) but I don't have a lease nor have a well on my acres, do myself and other land owners get paid too?

Only one well producing. Everyone who owns minerals evidenced by conveyance documents in the public records of DeSoto Parish will receive royalties from this well if they are leased or 100% of their proportional share of production based on their acres and the section/unit acres after the deduction of well costs. Land owners who do not own the minerals under their land do not receive payment of either.
In researching the decades-old Tuscaloosa Trend and the immense wealth it has generated for many, I find it deeply troubling that this resource-rich formation runs directly beneath one of the poorest communities in North Baton Rouge—near Southern University, Louisiana—yet neither the university ( that I am aware of) nor local residents appear to have received any compensation for the minerals extracted from their land.
This area has suffered immense environmental degradation…
