Does anyone have any information on new well by Devon Energy in the Alexander H. Graham Survey A-251, Shelby County, Texas? Last rumor was the pad was in place and drilling scheduled to begin on 07-24-10. Would appreciate any updates...thanks.

Sharon - If you haven't done so already, you might want to go to the "Groups" and join the Shelby County group. Repost this topic there and I'm sure those rascally Texans will be more than willing to help you. lol

Thanks, sesport, for the Shelby County group info. I follow up on that suggestion. Appreciate your response and info.
Sharon, If A-251 is the correct abstract number, that is the A. H. Gates survey. There are three Graham surveys in Shelby Co.: J. M. Graham, A-254,; G. L. Graham, A-854; G. L. Graham, A-855.

Devon-Whitton 1H (419-31516) is in A-251 and is completed.
Devon-Bell 1H (419-31601) will have a bottom hole location in A-251. The surface location is in
Hamp West survey, A-759 to the south of A-251.

It was not reported as drilling or having a rig assigned as of 7-23-10. It you see a rig on site... try to get the driller name and rig number. There is usually a sign on the rig road.

Thanks for the reply, info, and attachments. I got the name of the survey from the legal description on the lease agreement but will check further. Sorry for the late response...away from the computer today.
We hope to be in the area within the next 2-3 weeks and will check it out visually. Appreciate your good info...
Yes, likely that you are referring to Devon's Bell 1-H well. This is directly next to the Whitton 1-H unit and is mostly in the AH Gates Survey (A-251).

If you are in the area, let us know if there is now a rig in place. Based upon when it was permitted, I would image that this one and also that Samford 1-H well would be some of the next wells in line to be drilled by Devon in Shelby County.
Would be happy to let you know what we find when we go to Shelby County. We live in the Austin area and plan to be in Shelby County in early to mid-August. We've seen the Whitton
1H unit but are not sure where the Patricia Samford 1H unit is located in proximity to Whitton and Bell. Heard some time ago that Devon has only two rigs in the area so hopefully Samford and Bell will be coming up soon.
Appreciate your info and any other that might come your way in the future.
