I just sold some land with mineral rights and have option to buy bakck rights in 2years. It's like playing the stock market with future explorations. I did keep some percentage of royalties. Seemed like a good deal to me.

The good thing about the Haynesville Shale activity is that it raised my property value up. Iwas offered a great price for the land with mineral rights. Of course I put in sale cluase that I would keep some of the royalties with option to buy them back in the future, both land and mineral rights. We'll have to see how it works out. I was paid 4 times more than I bought the land for. could'nt pass it up.
Good for you Joe, hope it works out for you. I think I will keep my land and wait for a lease.
Thanks Landowner, It took a lot of thought and calculations, at this point and time with all the homework I have done. It just seemed like the better deal. I do have some options to buy more land with royalties, just waiting to see how it plays out. It's a Gamble.Joe
Smart man to trade this market.
Don't get me wrong, I am a true beleiver in the HS. All you Shalers keep your heads high and stick with patience. Like I said Iwas given an offer I couldn't refuse. But to all my freinds, members, and Shalers, I will continue to go out to sites make phone calls and any other way I can get info and pass it along. I am reinvesting in the H.S. Just wanted everyone to know I'm not disappearing. Joe Dyer
Nothing wrong with taking a bird in hand!
