Spanish land grant minerals lease/royalties

Someone recenlty told me about some land they have on a Spanish land grant. The land doesn't have a township range section on Sonris. They know how many acres they have but don't understand how the O&G companies will divide royalties. How does leasing/royalties work in these areas?

The ball is all yours, Jean. I am getting a big kick out of imagining KB on a mule. Which do you think needs restricting? KB or the mule?

I can't say because it would be politically incorrect. I would have to refer you to the mule owner which I don't want to piss off.

KB would be the best looking one of us by far sitting on a mule, but I guess that is just my opinion.

KB. You're just trying to avoid the mule. Aren't you?

Replying to TD, whose last reply sounds positively Shakespearean: As I once declaimed on the Marjorie Lyons Playhouse: "All the world's a stage, and all the men and women merely players: they have their exits and their entrances; and one man in his time plays many parts, his acts being seven ages." I would name all seven, but modesty and failing memory prevent.
