Our family group is approx. 6 months from expiration of our first batch of original leases with Triad (SWN). Anyone have any contact from SWN agents wanting to renew or "new" groups that have an interest?

SWN has already allowed leases on ~ 60,000 acres to expire in the northwest corner of their Brown Dense lease block.  The chances of either SWN exercising extension options or leasing interest by "new" groups is location specific.

I heard some in N. Claiborne had been extended,

Thanks Skip and Tony for the info.

Chip, if you would like to get more input, post your discussion in the appropriate group or groups.  When you do so every member of that group gets an email alerting them to your question.  That doesn't happen when you post to the Main Page.  The SWN leasehold covers such a large geographic area that the circumstances regarding lease extensions can vary greatly based on specific location.  I think you may also find existing discussions and replies on the same subject.

Thanks...  I actually thought I WAS posting on the "Brown Dense" page. Our holdings include tracts throughout all of Columbia County and extreme eastern Lafayette County, so we would be curious about ANY renewal leasing activity in the area.  Most of our ownership in north Louisiana is HBP.

To date, SWN is getting their ass handed to them in terms of capital versus what the wells are expected to deliver.  Drop back and punt and wait for oil prices to hit $150/bbl.  Then things will start happening again?
