I was told this morning by a deer hunter who leases my property (T16N R13W S29) that a "test well" is being drilled on my property. It is news to me. What is the signifance of this activity????

EXCO has two wells in Section 29,LCV RA SU 17, Country Club 29 #001 and #002-Alt.  Both are complete and neither is a test well.

Glenn, a well is a well with no special category known as a "test well".

Les, I misstated the location of the test. It is in T12 R9W S29. It is a 40+ acre tract that fronts the Red River Airport Runway. By the way, the Police Jury is going to buy (take) 15.6 acres of that tract and is offering me a pittance for it. I don't think there is much that I can do about it.

Glenn, the well permit has not yet been posted on Sonris but I will be on the lookout for the permit.  If it is a Haynesville Shale well then all mineral owners in Section 29 will participate in the production.

I am not sure what is meant by "test" unless it is just a reference to the fact the well is located in an area not previously tested by drilling.

Les,

I think we should consider the source of Glenn's information in reference to a "test well" is a deer hunter. Where did the deer hunter get his info? LOL!

From the guys drilling the hole. They were fowling up his deer hunting with all the noise they were making. He asked them what they were doing and they replied that they were drilling a "test well." He said ", Are you doing sismograph stuff?" and they replied "No, we are drilling a test well."  That is all that I know at this point.

Glenn,

It is my understanding the state has a program to test water quality. Maybe it is a test well to test the aquifer. Who is doing the drilling?

Most likely the case. Just my luck!

Can someone come on your property and test or drill without your permission! I think you should look into this - if it happened then take some legal action!

Are you saying that because the source of the information is a deer hunter  you should disregard what they said ?  I hunt deer and I think I would know if they were drilling a well of any kind or not-I drill them all the time.  Where you non hunters get your info?  LOL!!!!

Hey DD, I hear taller tails come out of fishermen than I do deer hunters.
