Hello everyone! I'm looking to start dialogue about any activity in Trinity County. I am a landowner with 2 parcels already leased and have a 3rd parcel available to lease. Any drilling or leasing activity shared would be appreciated.

I haven't seen or heard about much leasing activity here lately. It seems that the players have all the property leased up that they can handle...and on some, are allowing leases to expire rather than renew. The speculation paid off for some, as there are a couple of wells West of Trinity going out FM230 that I think were completed. I just have't heard if they "made" a good well out of them...or the good, bad or indifferent. There is a well being drilled on what I think is Gibbs property...just across the river on FM3478...but, it's in Walker County close to the Kittrell Cut-Off. Reportedly it is a test well....so, we'll have to see. Heard about, but haven't seen, activity for a well-site off of Fire Tower Road...kinda close to SH 19. Any of the other stuff, lease-wise, exploration-wise or inquiries for such has been pretty quiet. Maybe it's just the calm before the storm....time will tell.

You might drop by the feed store one morning and catch up with King David or Hamer for some better updates...they usually have the drop on the news....good or bad....concerning cattle, oil, gas and land.

In researching the decades-old Tuscaloosa Trend and the immense wealth it has generated for many, I find it deeply troubling that this resource-rich formation runs directly beneath one of the poorest communities in North Baton Rouge—near…

AboutAs exciting as this is, we know that we have a responsibility to do this thing correctly. After all, we want the farm to remain a place where the family can gather for another 80 years and beyond. This site was born out of these desires. Before we started this site, googling "shale' brought up little information. Certainly nothing that was useful as we negotiated a lease. Read More |
