Big Coal (& Power & Railroad) and Environmentalists!!!
I think when the new energy bill is complete ng will end up in a very comprising position. If i'm wrong i'll be suprised......time will tell and you know what will smell.
the culprit seems to be BIG OIL and the influence that industry has in government
CM, sorry to disagree but Big Oil is actually Big Gas and would benefit. Look at BP & Statoil's investment in the shale gas plays and ExxonMobil's position in the Rockies and Canada.
You'll also note that in the top 10 gas producers in the U.S., several are "Big Oil" companies. COP, BP, Exxon, Shell.
Maybe the NG lobby needs to stop lobbying government and advertise heavily to the general public.

As gasoline prices rise, who wouldn't want to run their automobiles at a $1.00 per gallon or less equivalent?
O.K., I know it would be STUPID to stop lobbying, but why not try to garner stronger demand with the general public?
Parker, you are spot on. I always say Detroit will start making NGV's and NG filling stations will be installed when the buying public creates the demand.

We just need the government to clear the way of potential roadblocks.
Chesapeake CEO convinced CNG popularity will grow - Journal Record
OKLAHOMA CITY – Despite decreased demand for natural gas in the last year, Chesapeake Energy Corp. CEO Aubrey McClendon said Tuesday he remains so convinced of the fuel’s future that he’s even converted his personal vehicle to run on it.

I also read that he plans to convert "some" of it's fleet to run on NG.
