Most of the converted taxis will be Crown Victorias and similar models. 100 of them will be on the streets of Chicago this year, supplementing the 3,000 or so cabs that Yellow already runs in the city and surrounds.

In addition to the CNG taxis, Yellow Group has also partnered with Clean Energy Fuels, the nation's leading provider of CNG and LNG fueling stations, to build two new public fueling stations in Chicago.

Grants from both the City of Chicago and the U.S. Department of Transportation will make the fueling stations possible.
