Since no one is home in the Marion County Group, I thought I would also post this excerpt form the E. TX. Drilling Report here for our North Caddo members. Have we discussed the possibilities of Bossier Shale in northern Caddo? There have been recent discussions concerning other areas of the HS Play where IP's are similar to north Caddo with some informed speculation that the Bossier Shale prospects may be a factor in continued drilling in that area.

- The Blackstone Well No. 1 is located three miles north from Karnack in the Carthage, North Field. Forest Oil Corp. has completed this well to a depth of 11,020-feet. When gauged on a 18/64-inch choke, the well showed a potential of 102,000 cubic feet of gas. Production is in the Bossier Shale formation.

Please note that this is a vertical, not a horizontal, completion.

Electro. My comment was not directed at reservoir engineers. And although we have some on the site, I would not expect them to perform the analysis for GHS members. My point is that for our discussion purposes there is no simple formula to convert the vertical IP of this well to the IP's we observe with the typical HS wells we discuss on a regular basis. It is enough to know that there is interest by a reasonably capable company in this general area of the Play.
Electro. It's somewhat of a disappointment that we are having a two way conversation. What has happened to our Marion County members? Can you convert the location of the Comstock and Matador wells to airline distances from known points of references (Karnack possibly)? Or for our TX. members, a survey? The fact that Forest, Comstock and Matador are continuing to prospect in this general area should hold some interest for land/mineral owners in this area. I'd hate to think that members with a mineral interest in Marion County are asleep at the wheel and may suffer from being unaware of development activity in their back yards.
Skip, do not speak for others, but I follow the permits issued by RRC for Marion County.
Last Drilling Permit was issued August 2009. I gave up posting on Marion County for a variety of reasons. Just today starting looking at North Caddo site. I own mineral interest in various parcels in Marion County. Signed some leases with Penn Virginia last year and XCO. No interest what so ever so far in 2009.

Thanks, Carl. Hopefully there will be Marion County development activity to discuss in the near future. Good Luck.
This would be Harrison County .......Anyword?
Electro have you got any info on these?....I hear the rig at night they sound like they are coming out the hole..
Skip, TRRC reports new permit issued in Marion County 12-18-09.
5 Miles North of Karnack
Survey : L.Smith A-350
Operator: Wagner & Brown
Permitted for 15,000 ft
Welbore Profile: Horizontal
Thanks, Carl. It's about time we had a well to watch in Marion County. You may have to post it to the Main Page to attract any attention. I'm afraid there hasn't been much activity on the Marion County group page. Please post any updates you get.

The Lithium Connection to Shale Drilling

Shale drilling and lithium extraction are seemingly distinct activities, but there is a growing connection between the two as the world moves towards cleaner energy solutions. While shale drilling primarily targets…
