Good Morning..
Just stumbled across this site. We are absentee mineral owners in the Y'baro Survey just east of Chireno, about one mile west of river on n/s Hwy 21.
Pardon us if we sound mineral uneducated. Our minerals were top leased in April (24 months/ 25%/ $1,000/ac) by XTO as most adjacent landowners were signing with these same guys.
We are curious as current activity and proposed activity in our area.
Thanks a $1,000,000.00.

best way go on texas rrc site pull up the GIS map viewer and zoom in on the Y'baro Survey and see all the icon of wells drilled and permitted
It appears the action is north and northwest....heck....
thanks....
I think you need to look again. The nice cluster of EOG shale wells - Hill, Haskell, Pop-Pop are not in the north part of Y'Barbo. Or did you mean north and northwest of where your minerals are?
Patience tadpole... you are in a good location.
Yeah, the Murray well can't be much more than a mile to the south and the EOG wells are only a couple of miles to the north. I don't think I would mind having some mineral interests in tadpole's neighborhood.
You may also want to pay attention to what is happening with the Butler-Rooney well just across the river and maybe as close to your interest as any shale well.

I believe it is an XTO well.
That discussion contains, at best, some big rumor and speculation, right now.
absolutely right - but when solid news is available it should appear in that discussion as rapidly as anywhere and will be easy to find for a newbie.
hey guys, thanks a 1,000,000.00 (less 35%+ to Caesar and 10% to our church....)
We had an interesting call from a lease agent regarding the lease that we signed in April 2010. Actually it was an two year extension of an existing lease 1/5 to 1/4 royalty... Well anyway, he needs our signature again because 'legal' found some issues with the extension... I was totally confused.... I'm thinking the guy is carry us to fast but I don't want to create an issue where we would not be included in a unit. But to the 'skinny' of the conversation. He says that our lease is not with XTO but now owned by Exon and they are planning to drill within four months. I ask if we were included in the proposed unit and he say yes with One to Three sites, no sites approved, yet...We've agreed to meet with the gentleman next week and listen to his altar call.
tadpole, don't let that confuse you. XTO will continue to be the operator of the lease but they were acquired by Exxon Mobil so, technically, Exxon Mobil now owns those leases.

As always, if you are not sure what they are asking you to sign... take it to an attorney. If they are rushing you to sign something you should stop and find out why. They are not going to leave you out of a unit if you are already leased. Take the time you need to understand what you are signing.

We got a call yesterday from the folks that leased our minerals.  This is jist of  conversation.  "We are looking to drill very shortly on a portion of your acreage and need an affidavit of ownership.   Ok send us the document, we'll review and get back to you."  The tract is located about  1/2 mil west of Attoyac River and about 1/4 mile north of Hwy 21.

Just wondering if this is SOP prior to drilling?
