Looks like this may be the next big play for O&G! Play must run from NW La up into southern AR. A small company has drilled 3 vertical wells in a row in 2 different sections here in Northeast Bossier parish and have hit on all 3. Word is the latest well is a very good one! Funny thing is that there is still lots of land around these wells unleased? I don't think the company has much capital to work with.....
I agree! thanks for the color copy. Havent seen that one yet. Skip Peel says its a dry hole, but I thoroughly disagree. Only time will tell, but a friend said that E.O.G. is reviewing the options on the fracking process. Borders is filing alot of the leases right now so we will wait and see!
Excerpt from the other discussion thread. This was my last comment on the productive nature of the well you are discussing.

Allen. I don't have any sources related to the rig. I analyze things from the perspective of a landman. And landmen working a specific well often are the first to know when management declares a dry hole and stops operations. Why continue to run up a land bill if you don't plan to produce? Make sense? Now there has been a comment I believe concerning the fact that there were two land crews from two different companies working this project. It was not obvious at first that only one was let go. And the other remains and continues to work the last I heard. So maybe ya gotta well.
Didnt mean to be offensive! I was under the impression that you believed it to be a dry hole and I just disagreed. I think its ok to disagree, but do you think its a dry hole? I just think that the well head has to mean something . You just dont go to the trouble of putting it on the well without their being something there. Agreed that it might and might not be significant, but something is there. Whether it is worthwhile is yet to be determined! There is one company up here that is leasing like crazy now. Somethings up! Have you or anyone ever heard of Tower Exploration? They are trying to lease all around Borders.
Allen. I don't have any inside information on the well. I do like to be quoted accurately and I thought I had explained clearly why my first info was dry hole and then subsequent information seemed to indicate otherwise. No offense taken. No, I'm not familiar with Borders or Tower Exploration. A good way to substantiate rumors concerning leasing is to see what is being recorded at the court house. I can give you some pointers but I think the clerk of court staff will probably be happy to answer your questions and tell you how to get started. Does the Arkansas Secretary of State have a website with a registered corporation database? If so, you can search for both companies. If they are registered in the state, you will get some basic info on them. Then search the Arkansas mineral database for activity by both. It sounds like Border is an E & P (exploration and production) company. Tower Exploration may or may not be. They may just be a land service company that is handling the leasing.
I receive all of the information on all leases in the county, so its easy to keep up with who is leasing and where. Its nice to know who is doing the leasing and where the leases are . Its kinda fun to see if the filings in particular sections dictate where the next well will be drilled!
Hey inthestix!!I think you should take all of that money you have been hiding and buy out the remaining leases!!!!!!!!!lol
LOL! I wish I had it...I sure would because somebody is going to make some around here. Maybe I can ask Ken for a loan? lol......I really hope that the well up there is good also... this could be big for this area and yours. Love to see someone put a horizontal into that zone and see what they can produce from it? We need to pray that the NG prices rebound soon to get more interest around here and some competition for these low balls!
Hey Allen....just another thought...maybe we should get Skip the independent landman to come lease our land and make all of us some $????? How about it Skip?
Sorry, inthestix. I don't do business in Arkansas. My land business is strictly Haynesville Shale related.
I guess that I will have to let everyone know of the rumor going on here! First rumor is that E.O.G. has let everyone go that was with Borders( heard this one before) still dont know if its true. Second one is that E.O.G. has sent their own people here to do leases. I do know that there are new people in the court house looking. Thirdly, E.O.G. is saying that they are going to sit on this well for 180 days instead of 90. This has something to do with calling it an experimental well, which will supposedly give them more time to evaluate their findings. I dont like rumors , but decided to let everyone know of the (talk) hehe . If anyone happens to see anything on the Arkansas Oil and Gas Commission docket , please let us know!
From a geologist view point I see no reason that the marl should not possibly be productive. I definitely think someone should give it a go. This is not about a structure, rather marl is basically a limy, fossiliferous rock.
