Nobody has mentioned this well, which appears to be somewhat of a sleeper.  Although Nelson/Pryme have drilled wells in this field about 5-6 miles to the NE, it will be interesting to see what Anadarko can do!

Dominique No. 1, Serial No. 243229.  This well is right on the St. Landry/Avoyelles line and is most certainly a unit well for the  AUS C RB SUA, North Bayou Jack Field.

TD is shown as 23,200' and it is currently drilling at 14,178' on 6/27.

This is a really important well for N. Bayou Jack and Moncrief fields, including acreage in NE St. Landry, SW Avoyelles and on into Pointe Coupee.

My family owns land in the immediate vicinity, so I'm praying this is a barn-burner!

ROTATE & SLIDE DRLG @ 20,550'

Scout Report, Dominique #27 ; Monday, 08/22/2011: Measured Depth 22,450 (Proposed Total Depth: 23,200); ROTATE & SLIDE DRLD; RUNNING 3-1/2" LINER; Scout Well Status 05, DRILLING IN PROGRESS.

Looks like they're getting close.

By my simple math, if they continue at the same rate as last week (271' per day), they should reach the end of the line this Thursday, 8/25.

What's the next step in the process once they reach the end of the line?

Hey guys anyone knowledgeable about Cortez Oil. And their track record? They hv leases in east n west feliciana.
I heard they had a 30,000 ac position in the TMS (mainly in East Feliciana and Amite Co). They started taking leases back in the spring. I imagine they are looking to turn to an operator. I don't know much more than what you can read on their website.
Thx bulldog , an operator as in ......? Drilling co. ?
I imagine they are waiting for the play to develop so they can turn their acreage to a larger company like Encana, Devon or some of the other big boys that will come in to drill. They were at summer NAPE advertising their position.

Viewed the well site - it's impressive.  Tons of activity, trucks, trailers, massive H&P rig.  Makes some of the HA operations look small in comparison.  They've laid a gas pipeline to connect to a larger pipeline running through the area, and there is a small gas flare, so it looks like this well will be placed in production, which isn't surprising.  The real question is how much oil this thing will produce.

Well status on 8/22 is "ROTATE & SLIDE DRLD; RUNNING 3-1/2" LINER;" and depth is 22,450, so it looks like completion is finally near.

Tuscaloosa Trend Sits On Top Of Poorest Neighbourhood For Decades - Yet No Royalties Ever Paid To The Community -- Why??

In researching the decades-old Tuscaloosa Trend and the immense wealth it has generated for many, I find it deeply troubling that this resource-rich formation runs directly beneath one of the poorest communities in North Baton Rouge—near Southern University, Louisiana—yet neither the university ( that I am aware of)  nor local residents appear to have received any compensation for the minerals extracted from their land.

This area has suffered immense environmental degradation…
