Nobody has mentioned this well, which appears to be somewhat of a sleeper.  Although Nelson/Pryme have drilled wells in this field about 5-6 miles to the NE, it will be interesting to see what Anadarko can do!

Dominique No. 1, Serial No. 243229.  This well is right on the St. Landry/Avoyelles line and is most certainly a unit well for the  AUS C RB SUA, North Bayou Jack Field.

TD is shown as 23,200' and it is currently drilling at 14,178' on 6/27.

This is a really important well for N. Bayou Jack and Moncrief fields, including acreage in NE St. Landry, SW Avoyelles and on into Pointe Coupee.

My family owns land in the immediate vicinity, so I'm praying this is a barn-burner!

Madman,

The way I read it: The well is drilled , completed and waiting on a test. Or having problems testing.

The Conservation Office in LFT said that the 2000 Allowable/753bopd Estimated Potential "....sounds about right", assuming the 753/day was over a 3 day period. It was thought that the initial flow during that time may have been loaded on to waiting tanker trucks. Envision your own version of the circumstances and variables at that time. Another presumption appears to be that the Initial Production was continuous (24/7) and accurately measured as opposed to intermittent flow during the day when tankers were present and guesstimates applied to actual well capacity. Until you can be a fly on the wall and observe how the Initial Production was recorded, I think speculation will be the soup du jour. One thing seems to be sure - nobody's sure, and until the Sonris data is complete, some doubt will remain.

The BTR Conservation Office said that required tests are due in MAY and NOV each year. So the first "formal" test is due in a few weeks and should include choke size and other x-factors. The BTR office also said that Oil Companies were somewhat guarded/secretive with reporting, implying the competitive/confidential nature of the business, and also implied that some will sandbag as long as they can and still remain in compliance.

This is my Barnyard Wisdom. Take all this with a big grain of salt.

OS,

Great post. We really thank you for all of your phone work.

Thanks again

I have heard (it could be a rumor) that Anadarko is getting ready to stake a new location close to the Dominique well
Do you know how far and it what direction from the Dominique 27?
No I would like to know that also. May have more info early next week. The person passing this own said that a company man told him  the plans were in the works. Will let you know when I hear something. Do you mean the #1 by Big Cane
Does anyone know if Anadarko has any other units already approved in the vicinity of this unit? Just wondering if a second well would be placed in the same unit as D27, or if they have other units in the area already established?

Thanks and keep us posted.  I don't believe there is a unit on any side of the newly formed AUS C RB SUA (Dominique Well), although the LOC (at Anadarko's request) just dissolved numerous Austin Chalk units in Bayou Jack Field (8/3/11).  I'm assuming they did that to create bigger units (the new unit is 1440 and the old ones around 960).

With a new staking, I'm surprised there have been no pre-app notices or drilling permits.   It could be an alt for the same unit, but I was under the impression an alt would be drilled off the same pad.

My hunch is the  Indigo 16 (ATINUM OPERATING, INC); permitted on SEP07. The Indigo 16 is 5.72 miles SE of Dominique 27 and the operator is ATINUM OPERATING, INC.

Do you think the Swayze Lake area is to far south and east??????
The high water production doesn't look good for anyone downdip of the Dominique. This explains why their allowable was 2300 BOPD. The well made 750 BOPD + 1500 BWPD = 2250 BBLS total fluid per day. They weren't anticipating the high water cut.
