The application notes a "pre-application conference" which was held prior to the application reaching the Commissioner's public hearing schedule.  Therefore the surface owner, Turner Lumber Company, must have signed off on the application.

This has been going on for months. It's no big secret. I was told the landowners didn't want to sign a new lease. So Torrent was trying to get a rig in there to hold the old lease. Last I heard, and I could be wrong, but I thought a rig was supposed to be floated in to spud because the parish wouldn't upgrade the bridge.

I thought Torrent offered to upgrade the bridge and did not get parish approval.

Yes, I think you're right, John.

The last Torrent well, AUS RA SUXX;Indigo Minerals #1, was permitted 2/18/2019.  It was a six month permit which has now expired.

John, I don't think installing a wellhead constitutes a spud of a new drill prior to the expiration of the permit. I think this well status will be updated as a "03", permit expired.

LOGA keeps reporting that Torrent has a rig drilling.

No Torrent rig appeared in last Friday's Weekly Rig Report.  Not even as "assigned". Of course one may appear on this Friday's report but the six month permit expired on 8/16/2019.  So does replacing the wellhead constitute a "spub"?  Haven't seen this before but could check with OOC.  Or we can just wait until Friday evening when the report comes out.

OOC confirms that setting a new wellhead, like spudding a well, maintains the permit to drill in force.  I'll try to remember to post the specifics from the next Rig Report.
