Planned for 11,429' so this is a Vertical (must be something to that design they like)

It is a vertical because every horizontal that SWN has tried to drill has had severe casing damage issues. The guys at the bar talk about it but Mueller and the PR boys don't.
Mr. Way, at the last conference call, touted a consortium consisting of insiders and outsiders feverishly working on mastering the challenge of drilling an horizontal into the LSBD formation. Do the guys at happy hour discuss this?
Next time that anybody has a chance, they should ask Mr. Way about this (like the stock analyst that never seem to ask tough questions). There are no major players working this area - Exxon is just sitting on their fee acreage and learning. I hear that they have been asked to contribute and said "why should we".
Just "bar talk", but those guys seem to really know what is going on.
Way said a good completion in this play would be a company maker. Guess Willie has some high hopes for the LSBD. Maybe he should belly up to the bar and learn something.
If Shale Player is the barkeep he should snitch his blabber mouthed patrons out to little Stevie Mueller for a good buck. Bet he would get a better bonus than the LSBD landowners and hopefuls. Plus, if he is a good barkeep he could move on to Horseshoe Bay and Marble Falls and make some decent tips and possibly be put on retainer by Mueller and a few other executives. These loudmouthed petroleum engineers and geologists are ruining a good scam in more than one play.
Sunny,
Shale Player is exactly right!!! The oil patch is small just maybe one of us has done some completion work in the area.............
Tell us more who dat. You know anything about that Whiting White Elephant in Claiborne? I have heard things on the street similar to Ankor's finds but cannot put any store by them.
Every good barkeeper knows that all you have to do is ask "why do you look so down" when a reservoir engineer, driller or geologist walks into the bar. They will spill everything with the barkeeper having to say anything. Heck, sometimes you don't even need to ask, they just run their mouths.
It works in Conway, Houston, at Dean's place, wherever.

AboutAs exciting as this is, we know that we have a responsibility to do this thing correctly. After all, we want the farm to remain a place where the family can gather for another 80 years and beyond. This site was born out of these desires. Before we started this site, googling "shale' brought up little information. Certainly nothing that was useful as we negotiated a lease. Read More |
