Anyone heard of an upcoming town hall meeting in Spearsville? Who is putting on the meeting? When and where is it? Any info is appreciated.

Permalink Reply by Sarah Randolph on It is just another seismic survey meeting to be beld April 16th at 5:30 p.m. at the town hall in Spearsville. CGG Veritas and Kingfisher hosting to discuss four 2D lines in Union and Claiborne parishes. The map in the paper I have is hard to read so I do not know exactly where the lines will be.
In researching the decades-old Tuscaloosa Trend and the immense wealth it has generated for many, I find it deeply troubling that this resource-rich formation runs directly beneath one of the poorest communities in North Baton Rouge—near Southern University, Louisiana—yet neither the university ( that I am aware of) nor local residents appear to have received any compensation for the minerals extracted from their land.
