Tony, if my map is correct, this well, in T19S R19W, is 6 miles east of Emerson, unless they have mis-stated the location on the application.
You are right, Obed. Thanks. I changed the title. Sorry everyone. Seems like a lot of "pork" in that AFE. Mr. Sanders, any opinions?
Just an FYI for those following the Desoto Rig(s) in the LSBD. You will soon see a name change on Rig 20 and rig 21.
Thanks Gatrpaw. Can you tell us when the rig moves and which rig is moving where?
Are they changing the names or selling these and bringing in rigs new to this area? I heard they were selling but don't know if that is correct or rumor.
Let's see if we can calm this down some...
They are indeed selling, but it's just three rigs. I'm guessing they don't need them right now, and $20 million in assets sitting around is a lot of cash to not put to work. You can see the rigs and prices listed on kruseasset.com If you've every had secret ambitions of starting your very own drilling co, now's your chance!!!
As for the name change, it's from "Desoto Drilling" to "SWN Drilling" Desoto was the "secret project" name given to the F'ville shale when it started. Everything up here was "Desoto..." for a while, Desoto Drilling, Desoto Gathering, etc. A year or two ago they started changing everything to "SWN..." Now it's "SWN Drilling, SWN Gathering, SWN Well Services" This is purely a guess, but I think this reflects the expansion of their vertical integration beyond the "Desoto Project" into other areas. One of the rigs on the Kruse web site has some "SWN Drilling" signs on it already.
Sorry I couldn't answer some of those questions earlier. Patterson UTI purchased the two rigs SWN had in the Brown Dense. They will be staying around.
Tony, Seems like a real FAT HOG. Not a well I would invest in unless they reduced AFE by at least 50%.
Shale drilling and lithium extraction are seemingly distinct activities, but there is a growing connection between the two as the world moves towards cleaner energy solutions. While shale drilling primarily targets…

AboutAs exciting as this is, we know that we have a responsibility to do this thing correctly. After all, we want the farm to remain a place where the family can gather for another 80 years and beyond. This site was born out of these desires. Before we started this site, googling "shale' brought up little information. Certainly nothing that was useful as we negotiated a lease. Read More |
