I'd consult with a Lawyer with O & G experience. Good Luck.
Thanks GD for the thumbs up, I didn't look into production but was just going by what Janice was saying. I took her reply as they were receiving royalty on a 1970's well. I will do some more research and give you another answer when I get to the bottom of what is going on. Back then Pugh Clauses were not the norm.
GD, TD and Jon,
I thank all of you for you input. To clarify, part of our land in section 13 is included in in the proposal, part is not. The rest of our property is located in sections 14, 23 and 26 which is adjacent to the proposed unit (west side).
My hope is that the current lease only pertains to section 23, but I will verify.
We will contact a O&G attorney before we sign anything.
Janice,
Could you give the section, township, and range for the proposed unit in Lisbon Field? Also, the name of the operator would be of great interest.
T21N, R4W, Sections 13, 24 and 25. The operator is Whiting.

I have a copy of the plat for the above referenced scanned. My email is mitchamwilliam@yahoo.com. If you would send me your email address I will email it to you.

Did whiting get permit to join sections 13 and 24 in R9W Webster ??? LWR SMK RA SUA landowner.
The unit application for L SMK RA SUA, East Dykesville Field, Webster Parish covering Sections 13 & 24 - 22N - 9W was approved 8/1/13 as Field Order 888E.
I do not know if this means anything but the seismic crew did their seismic work on my tract late last week after initially being told by Cougar that it would be done the first of next year. I am just south of that unit application so maybe they will be moving on it soon.
The seismic crew now checking section 13and 24 R9W Webster. They checked R8W T22N sec 19 Claiborne three weeks ago. It is already under production Stroud. Seismic crew said they had ten crews working.

AboutAs exciting as this is, we know that we have a responsibility to do this thing correctly. After all, we want the farm to remain a place where the family can gather for another 80 years and beyond. This site was born out of these desires. Before we started this site, googling "shale' brought up little information. Certainly nothing that was useful as we negotiated a lease. Read More |
