I was on the location just about daily for last 4 weeks. They were originally supposed to to frac well on 5/8 but did not frac until 5/10, I think. I was on location 5/10 and they had good flame. I last went by site on 5/13 and they still had good flare going. I left to come back to Arizona on 5/15 and have not heard anything since then.

Yesterday I heard from reliable source that Whiting has strung 6" pipeline to the Langford well. IMO that is a large gathering line for one well. Maybe they plan to tie other wells into it???

Whiting to buy Kodiak for $3.8 bln, create No. 1 Bakken producer

(Reuters) - Whiting Petroleum Corp said on Sunday it would acquire Kodiak Oil & Gas Corp for $3.8 billion in stock, to become the largest producer in North Dakota's Bakken shale oil formations, eclipsing Harold Hamm's Continental Resources Inc.

By surpassing Continental, Whiting is signaling its desire to become the preeminent player in what is considered one of North America's most-prolific shale formations, where more than 1 million barrels of oil are extracted daily.

per yahoo-finance, the last trade for kog was $14.99.

looks like the marketplace thinks kodiac is worth way more than whiting's bid.

fwiw, credit suisse provided the 'fairness opinion'.

I do not know how stale this is to most of you with better inside knowledge, but I heard yesterday that Whiting has released David Miller and his landmen. The Corporation also released the crew involved and currently, from what I understand, are in Farmerville.

My source could not say what is next for Langford or the permitted Garland Bros. though I was told they were not unhappy with the leased tract and are sitting on the results. I have no way of knowing if this is true or not but the person who told me has been reliable in the past and is involved in the area.

This was posted on the Facebook Brown Dense Report Sunday August 30.  By the pictures it appears Baker Hughes is fracking the well again.  Is this a good sign or not, maybe somebody with some Oil Well knowledge could tell us if this is unusual.

Langford Well - August 30, 2014 (5 photos)

On a whim, the Brown Dense Report went by Whiting Petroleum's Langford 4 H well (Section 4, 22N 7W, Claiborne Parish, Louisiana), yesterday evening, August 30, 2014. Turns out it was bustling with fracking activity. If anyone knows any additional details, please feel free to post here. This well is four miles southeast of downtown Haynesville.

Like Francis, I have heard rumors that the Whiting well is showing considerable promise if certain structural problems with the wellbore can be solved. We all know, though, that rumors sometimes have a life of their own, apart from reality.
