This is shown as a non-unitized Cotton Valley test and is not listed as a horizontal, but if not why is the permitted depth 14,000 feet. The Cotton Valley should be no deeper than 10000 feet in this area from what I've seen.

Seward-Gandy is at 11535 feet as of 10/31/14, about 1000 feet deeper than last week.
Thank you Obed. Your postings are appreciated!!
The Seward-Gandy et al. 20 is at 12172 feet as of 11/7/14.
Drilling ahead at 13185' on 11/14/14, only 815 feet short of the proposed total depth.
This is Good News! would anyone happen to know how its doing ?and approximately how many barrels so far?
Eric, I don't think it is producing yet, but I'm sure they are monitoring it with various tests as they drill. We may not hear much about what they have found, though, until a completion report is filed with the state. This area must be considered promising, however, since Wildhorse is also drilling one well and just permitted another in the Athens Field.
The Seward-Gandy is still at 13185 feet as of 11/21/14. Rig is still on location, but I don't know what type of activity is occurring.
On 11/26/14 it was reported "Drilling Ahead", but for some reason no depth was given. It will be interesting to see what this week's report shows.

Some do, some don't. Some operators may direct their drilling contractor not to report depth for a particular well. Especially if they are promoting short drill times to investors and financial analysts.

AboutAs exciting as this is, we know that we have a responsibility to do this thing correctly. After all, we want the farm to remain a place where the family can gather for another 80 years and beyond. This site was born out of these desires. Before we started this site, googling "shale' brought up little information. Certainly nothing that was useful as we negotiated a lease. Read More |
