Skip, I only see one well site. What am I missing? treeman
treeman, this is an application for three Pettit Drilling & Production Units. Their boundaries and Sand Unit designations are listed. Wells do not require applications, only permits and the operator is not required to notice land/mineral owners. When you receive a letter like this it is for a unit application or an alternate unit well application. The rules governing how the application plats are drawn require existing wells to be shown. That is the case here. Having a unit order allows the operator to drill the maximum number of wells within the unit boundaries based on the state' spacing regulation. So forming a unit is usually in preparation for drilling multiple wells.
