Goodrich was leasing recently in the Wilson area for the same offer you've mentioned. As of approximately a month ago they have held up on their leasing activity pending further evaluation of a potential well that is in the near vicinity. That is the information I was given by a representative of Merlin oil 3 weeks ago and confirmed again this Monday, July 28, 2014. He also said that he is optimistic they will resuming leasing soon.

In researching the decades-old Tuscaloosa Trend and the immense wealth it has generated for many, I find it deeply troubling that this resource-rich formation runs directly beneath one of the poorest communities in North Baton Rouge—near Southern University, Louisiana—yet neither the university ( that I am aware of) nor local residents appear to have received any compensation for the minerals extracted from their land.
