It looks like SEECO is going to drill in the Hector, AR, area of the Ozark Highlands Unit. I'm thinking that's why they made a donation to the Hector Police Department. What do you think?

Vandalism hits city park
By Cindi Nobles

HECTOR City Council members met last week, when Southwestern Energy representative Stan Berry presented Mayor Martha Owens $1,000 to be used by the HECTOR Police Department. No definite plans have been made for how the department plans to spend the money.

Owens informed the council Arkansas Wireless Information Network radios — designed to streamline and facilitate communication between public safety agencies statewide — have been installed in each officer’s vehicle since the June meeting.

At Owens’ recommendation, the council approved the hiring of part-time police officer Kenneth Smith.

In other business, city officials reported restrooms at HECTOR City Park have been vandalized multiple times in recent months. The council decided the best resolution is to put padlocks on the restrooms until they can develop a better plan. The park will remain open.

Good Ole Hector. They have now had some small earthquakes. Some think relates to fraccing wells but I am not sure. A swarm of events near Greenbrier back in the 90s went unexplained and there was no real drilling activity then. Also some of the quakes appear to have been very deep...far deeper than the wells that were being drilled. BUt in Hector's case the wells were very shallow... who knows.
