My sister and I have a npri in center tx and are being told that since it is going to take a while to get "in the system" to have a DO sent out to be signed and sent back, that they (XTO) is going to do what they call a transfer instead to get us caught up. Is this kosher? Our well has been producing since Jan. And from accounts, it has done well.

I don't know whether that is kosher or not but be sure to send in a letter requesting interest on all royalties not paid within 90 days. You are entitled to it by law but your producer isn't going to tell you that and he isn't required to. They depend on the ignorance of landowners to make a little money off what is rightfully yours.

thanks Tom...

Good luck. At least XTO found you and your sister. What do they mean by a tansfer. They owe a bunch of us since 2005. Wonder if they will ever pay us long lost heirs. They have forced us into legal cousel. Gooooooood    Luuuuck   ........Wonder Tom if they will pay us interest too?

A transfer of what?  Need a little more info.

I talked to my land man this morning. He told me a transfer is a process where the company will pay an estimated amount to date. He said that since we were told we should be already getting payments, that they should try and help us out. The transfer is a payment till the DO is sent out to be signed at a later date. And he was not sure when that would be since Exxon has bought out XTO. He said things were still a bit helter skelter at this point. Thanks in advance..Roy Gunter
